Parish Council

A lot of people ask what Parish Council does, and that answer isn’t as simple as a couple of tasks. On the surface, it looks like we greet our parishioners, do collection during mass, and help seat when we’re busier (or in a pandemic). While all of that is part of the role, being part of the parish council is much more, and much more rewarding.

Nearly all of the events you hear about or attend that are part of our church are planned, coordinated, and executed by the Parish Council. Here at Mother of God, that includes the priestly ordinations as this is the home of our entire diocese.

Our job is to serve the church on a day to day in mass, but there is so much more with fundraising and organization that requires dedicated and jovial individuals who are willing to help. It truly takes a village to accomplish everything we aim to do for our beautiful church.
