What is the pastoral council?
The pastoral council consists of a group of individuals who work together to consult and advise the parish priest in the pastoral care of the parish congregation. Individuals work closely with the pastor to discuss the needs of the parish as it pertains to ministry and communion. They reflect and discuss where the Holy Spirit is guiding the parish. This includes implementing events, programs, and providing resources and materials for the parish faithful to grow in faith, in communion with their parish family.
The main areas of focus are:
* Sunday Eucharist
How has the Mother of God Pastoral Council served the parish?
Advising the pastor on bible studies; holiday gifts to parishioners;
Of course, all members of the parish are encouraged to present their ideas and concerns as it relates to pastoral care to the priest and/or a member of the pastoral council.
